How we handle what you give us.

Last updated 11 October 2026

sinsehkai has two surfaces. The dictionary and the record page welcome every visitor without an account. The Thak Engine is a signed-in workspace for students and teachers. This page states what each surface collects, why, who sees it, and how long it is kept — and what you can do with what you have given.

01

What we collect

Before you sign in
  • The email address the sign-up notice form takes.
  • The feedback message, and your name only if you write one.
  • The voice recording you save on the record page, with the word it pronounces and the region you give if you give one.
  • Nothing else on the public site asks for personal information.
When you sign in
  • Your sign-in address. It is the only credential you have here: sinsehkai sends a six-digit code to it and lets you in with that.
  • The answers you give at the Root and the Summit — display name, mother tongue, heritage dialect, country, region, phone number, gender, year of birth, motivation, and the daily pledge.
  • An avatar, if you upload one.
  • Every word you look up, the time you looked it up, and the credits it cost.
  • Every notebook entry you save, and every group you file it under.
  • Every recording you make in the voice booth — the audio, the word it was made for, and its length.
  • Your theme and language choice, kept on this device, and one cookie that keeps you signed in for thirty days.

Why we collect it

Before you sign in

A notice email is used to send that one notice when registration opens — not for newsletters, marketing or anything else. It is kept until registration opens; on that day it either becomes part of an account under that account's own terms, or it is removed.

A feedback message is read and replied to. It is kept for as long as it helps us improve the dictionary.

We do not sell, rent or trade anything you give us.

When you sign in

Your address signs you in. Nothing else identifies you.

Your Root answers are your own record of where your story springs from. They open no voice and close none — a lookup answers every student the same way.

A lookup and its cost are written so the free daily credits can be counted, and so a purchase lands on the right account.

A notebook entry is stored so a word you saved is still there when you sign in again.

The address and IP address of a sign-in attempt are held for up to an hour, only to stop the passage being opened over and over.

Recordings

The public record page

When you save a recording on the public record page, you give sinsehkai permission to keep it and use it for AI training — to teach the dialect AI sinsehkai exists to build — and for nothing else. We do not sell, rent or trade it.

The recording is not tied to your name or address; it is anonymous.

Saved recordings stay in the training corpus for the duration of the mission. The public site does not undertake to retrieve, return or delete saved material on request — give only what you are comfortable contributing.

The Thak Engine voice booth

The recording is yours. sinsehkai takes no ownership of it and claims no licence over it beyond the four below.

  • You let sinsehkai store the audio.
  • You let it play the audio back to you while you are signed in.
  • You let it play the audio to a teacher when you send that take to be graded.
  • When you make a share link yourself, you open that recording to anyone who holds the link. That is your act, not the platform's.

None of this lets sinsehkai sell your voice, publish it, or train a model on it. If that ever changes, section 06 says what must happen first: you are asked to accept again.

A voice-booth recording stays until you delete it. Nothing expires on its own.

When you delete a voice-booth recording, the audio leaves storage with it. If a teacher has already graded that take, the score and their note stay on your submission — the grade is theirs to keep, the audio is gone.

Who sees it

Before you sign in

The sinsehkai team, and only the services that must carry your data: the mail service that delivers our letters over a verified TLS connection, and the storage that holds saved recordings.

No advertising network, data broker or other third party receives your email address, your feedback or your voice.

The public site uses basic analytics (Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics) to count visits and improve the workspace. These identify a browser, not a person.

When you sign in

Your teacher sees the display name you chose, the word you looked up, and the take you sent. They do not see your email address, your phone number, or your Root answers.

The grading queue shows every pending take to every teacher account here.

The word you type goes to the dictionary engine that answers the lookup. It arrives as the word alone — with no name, no address, and no recording attached.

A share link is public to whoever holds it, and the audio behind it plays without a sign-in.

The email you receive is sent through Resend, the human check at the gate is Cloudflare Turnstile, and a purchase runs on Stripe. Each is given the least the app can work without: your address and code, your IP address, and your payment's own row id.

The only script the signed-in pages load from another site is that human check. No analytics, advertising, or tracking script runs there.

05

Your choices

Before you sign in

Control exists before the save, not after. On the record page you can play your take back, record it again, download it, or close the page and save nothing. Once an email, a message or a recording is saved, sinsehkai keeps it as described above.

When you sign in

Read — the Profile card shows what sinsehkai holds about you, and the notebook shows every word you saved.

Correct — Edit profile changes any of those answers at any time, and each change is written to the same record you read.

Delete — a notebook entry, a voice-booth recording, a group, and a signed-in session are each yours to delete from the page that shows them.

Three things this app cannot yet undo on your behalf: a take a teacher has already graded keeps its grade, an avatar can be replaced but not removed, and a share link stays open until the recording behind it is deleted.

Closing your account, or taking a copy of everything held about you, is not a button in this app. Ask through the contact form and a person will do it.

06

Changes

Before you sign in

The public site holds no way to contact a guest, so no notice is promised when this page changes. The version published here is the version in force. Read it again before giving anything new.

When you sign in

The date printed above is the date this text last changed. Your acceptance is stored as the instant you sealed your ascent, not as a copy of this page.

A material change — a new purpose, a second party who can hear your recordings, or a new clause over your voice — asks every student to accept again before sinsehkai continues.

A change of wording that does not alter what sinsehkai does will not ask you again.

Questions about these terms — write to the address below.
